About Hollywood Undead:

Not long after the turn of the century, a group of friends gathered in the gutters and backyards of Hollywood, California to pursue a common vision. Influenced by '90s hip-hop, industrial metal and cheap liquor, they've shared similar experiences of poverty and hardship, fighting their way to the forefront of 21st-century rock music in their own way.

To this day, Hollywood Undead rests on the bond of five individuals turning rough experiences into relatable anthems. On their eighth album Hotel Kalifornia [Dove & Grenade Media/BMG], the platinum-selling quintet - Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Funny Man, Charlie Scene and Danny - tell their story like never before.

"We were in a world of shit," explains Johnny 3 Tears. "The chance of failure was far greater than the chance of success. We hung out with gang members and drug dealers. There's a heartbreak in our music that comes from all of our experiences."

"Hotel Kalifornia takes me back to a time when music was all that mattered," adds J-Dog. "The only thing that interested me was going to concerts. That's it."

During 2021, the boys recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles with producers Erik Ron [Panic! At The Disco, Motionless In White], Andrew Migliore [Sueco, Papa Roach] and Drew Fulk [Lil Wayne, Lil Peep]. Working face-to-face, Hollywood Undead recreated the unbridled intensity of their original material, but with a kind of sophistication that only years of street experience can bring.

"Hopefully if you listen to Hotel Kalifornia you'll see how far we've come," says Johnny 3 Tears. "J-Dog and Charlie Scene are very different songwriters than they were 15 years ago. I'm so impressed with everyone in the band. The only things we care about are the audience and trying to get better with each record."

"After all these years, people out there have a really hard time believing that we're still best friends," adds J-Dog. "We've stayed so close through all the shit we've been through. Bands usually break up friendships, but we're best friends - and always will be."
