The Bouncing Souls Announce "Home For The Holidays" Live At Studio 4 On December 12th

New Jersey punk legends The Bouncing Souls recently released "Volume 2", a cheekily titled album of reimagined songs from across their catalog. Out now from Pure Noise Records, "Volume 2" was produced by Will Yip (The Menzingers, Title Fight, Tigers Jaw) and offers a new take on the timeless songwriting at the heart of the band's three decade career. Now The Bouncing Souls have teamed with Yip once again for an upcoming livestream version of their annual "Home For The Holidays" event on December 12th at 8pm EST. Part of Yip's Live At Studio 4 series, the livestream will feature the band performing "Volume 2" in full along with more classics from The Bouncing Souls deep catalog. Tickets are available here.

Yip discussed the event saying: "I'm excited to have The Bouncing Souls be apart of our Live at Studio 4 Series. They’re a band that has been so inspiring to work with the last few years and I’m beyond excited to showcase how incredible they are live. Can’t wait to welcome everyone into our studio and share such a classic Souls moment together!".

The Bouncing Souls' vocalist Greg Attonito added: "We have missed a lot of things this year. We’ve missed being with each other as band buds and we’ve missed making music for our friends everywhere. This year has challenged us all in ways we maybe never imagined and pushed us to be stronger in ways we maybe didn’t think were possible. The idea of rousing the spirit of 'Home for the Holidays' at the end of 2020 seemed like such a great idea. But how? After much deliberation we think we’ve found a way. We will be getting together in Studio 4 with our good bud/producer Will Yip to perform our new record, “Volume 2” plus some surprises. There will be some special guests and some stories to tell too. Our goal is to try to capture a taste of that great spirit we all enjoyed so much during the nine year run of our annual 'Home For The Holidays' party at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. We figured you all could use a dose of that spirit after such an upside down year. We know we could. We are looking forward to playing together in a room maybe more than we ever have in our 31 years as a band. We hope you’ll sit back at home and join us on December 12th".

The initial spark for "Volume 2" came from the acoustic sets The Bouncing Souls were playing before the shows on their 30th anniversary tour in 2019, but the idea quickly expanded once they got in the studio with Yip. “We initially wanted to recreate some of the stripped-down vibe of the acoustic sets, but if anything, these versions are much more involved than the original versions” guitarist Pete Steinkopf says. "The first day we got to the studio Will said something like ‘we’re not gonna just make an acoustic record, right guys?’ We were like ‘hell no’ and then we were off to the races”. The process provided a unique opportunity for the band to recast some of their most cherished music. “Many of the songs we recorded have been around for twenty years or more and we’ve played them thousands of times” Attonito says: “It was really satisfying to bring 30 years of experience to these recordings. We knew the songs inside and out so it was fun to stretch them out a bit and see what happened”.
