Live Coverage || While She Sleeps @ Huxley's Neue Welt, 8/2/2019

UK metalcore prodigies, While She Sleeps, is currently on ther "So What?" headline tour and I was fortunate enough to be able to attend two dates. First round started on February 7th in Täubchenthal, Leipzig. The second started right the day after in Huxley’s Neue Welt, Berlin. They brought out Landmvrks from France, Trash Boat who are from the UK and Stray From The Path from the USA.

Landmvrks played first and it was a little bit of a mess because the original playtime was 7pm but the promoter changed set times right when tour started so a lot of fans didn’t know that their set now starts at 6:30pm, which was a little sad because it made them miss the french metalcore band. Landmvrks still gave their absolute best and I really liked their set. They had a great setlist and the people that were able to attend on time seemed to enjoy them.
Next up where Trash Boat, a pop-punk-mixed-with-melodic-hardcore band. I thought they sounded really interesting and I was surprised that I loved them as much as I did since pop punk isn’t my genre at all. I’m absolutely looking forward to see them again, hopefully soon.
Then hardcore band Stray From The Path stormed on stage and absolutely killed their set. There’s just something about them that’s so special. I saw them at Vainstream 2018 for the first time and instantly fell in love with their lyrics, the way vocalist Andrew Dijorio performs and watching drummer Craig Reynolds hit the drums like a maniac... Such a joy to watch.

Then the band of the night finally hit the stage, While She Sleeps. They started their set with one of their new singles called “Anti-Social”, which I thought was a good decision since it's a very powerful song that get’s people hyped. I love nothing more then WSS concerts, they make me feel at home and this time was no different, even though I believe that vocalist Lawrence “Loz” Taylor’s voice has become weaker over the years. Some screams kind of sounded muffled but it was still a great performance by everyone regardless. I also noticed that guitaristMat Welsh’s vocals got turned up on this tour so you could hear his amazing voice clearer. I love that they did that. My favourite moment was when they played “Our Courage Our Cancer”, this song has a very special place in my heart and it may have made me cry just a little bit. I’m very exited to listen to their new album “SO WHAT?” when it comes out on March 1st and I’m already stoked for the next tour. Thank you, While She Sleeps.
