Live Coverage || Reverence tour @ Sporthalle, 25/1/2019

Australia’s metalcore giants Parkway Drive started off their European arena tour at Sporthalle, Hamburg on January 25th. The line up was pretty impressive, since they brought Thy Art is Murder also from Australia on board, along with Killswitch Engage from the US.

The arena was packed with 7000 people and the room was already heating up, but when Thy Art Is Murder came on stage, it was on fire! I’m a pretty big fan of the deathcore band and it was my first time seeing them live. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed every second of their performance. Exited to see them again, hopefully soon!
Next up were Killswitch Engage and even though I’ve never been a diehard fan, I still liked their set. They still have a lot of power on stage and fans sang the lyrics back to the group of musicians with smiles on their faces. My personal favourite was “My Curse”, a fantastic song.
Then finally, Parkway Drive came on stage in a not so normal way. They walked thru the crowd, surrounded by torches with dramatic music rolling. It was mesmerizing to look at. The performance was amazing, breathtaking production throughout the whole show, I can't even fully describe how good it was. The setlist was well thought out, a bit of everything to satisfy all tastes to the best degree possible; “The Void”, “Carrion”, Absolute Power”, “Bottom Feeder” and many more. This show definitely has a chance to become one of the best shows of the year.
