Live Coverage || The Word Alive @ Musik & Frieden, 14/5/2019

I caught The Word Alive on their 10 Year Anniversary EU/UK tour on May 14th at Musik&Frieden in Berlin with support from Aviana from Sweden, Of Virtue from Michigan, USA and Make Them Suffer from Australia.

Aviana were the first band to play. I heard of them before but never came around to listen to them. I have to say that they were absolutely amazing live. They are heavier than I expected, which isn’t a bad thing at all. I’ll keep listening to them in the future for sure.

The second band of the day was also the one I was most exited to see (again), Of Virtue. I fell in love with them last year where they played in Berlin with The Royal. They’re dropping a new album on May 24th called "What Defines You" and I’m a big fan of the singles they released so far. Their setlist only had their new-ish stuff on, "Thanks for Nothing" being my favorite. It was really good to see them again and since we had a lot to catch up on I sadly missed Make Them Suffer's set.

The Word Alive had a 17- Song set which lasted about 1 1/2 hours. It was full of random chats with the crowd, jokes and laughter. It was super chill and gave me a feeling of comfort. The performance was great from every single member of the band. They seemed like they were having fun being on stage and interacting with the fans, it was really wholesome to watch. I gotta say that I only knew a few of their songs, which is fine because now I have a new band to get more into.
