Live Coverage || Casey farewell tour @ Conne Island, 03/05/2019

‘“It’s time for us to bury our love” 2014-2019’ is a statement by Casey for their final EU/UK run. After playing Never Say Die Tour in 2018 the band announced that they would be breaking up in 2019. Obviously fans were shocked but I think most of them are glad that they still got this tour to say their goodbyes. Casey played at Conne Island in Leipzig on May 3rd and I was there to catch them one last time, with support from Acres and Gatherers.

To my surprise Acres started the evening instead of Gatherers and they absolutely killed it. I loved their front mans (Ben Lumber) vocals. I saw them live at Knockdown Festival 2018 before but I wasn’t listening to them yet at the time. Now I definitely am and I’m very stoked in their upcoming album “Lonely World”.

Next up were Gatherers. I watched them play two songs but I went outside after that to get some fresh air. I’m not really a fan of their music but I also don’t hate it.

Then Casey came on stage and they were greeted with nothing but love. I’ve seen passionate fans before but this crowd was truly special. A lot of people have a deep connection to the band, emotionally. and mentally and you could definitely tell. Casey played a good variety of songs from “Love Is Not Enough” and “Where I Go When I Am Sleeping”. Not many words were being said besides “We have told you everything there is” and thank you’s. I’ve never been a fan of the band but it’s still sad to see them go. I’m sure it’s for the better for the band.
