Live Coverage || You Me At Six @ Columbia Theater, 24/1/2019

You Me At Six is currently on their headline tour across Europe promoting their new album “IV” that dropped in October of last year. The English alternative band got supported by Big Spring and Hot Milk. I caught them playing in Columbia Theater, Berlin on February 24th.

The night started off with Hot Milk, a newcomer band from England. This band is very, very new and only has one song out on Spotify/Apple Music (currently) which got me a bit confused as to how they got on that tour. Regardless to that, they still got the crowd moving and people seemed to enjoy their sound. Since I am no fan of pop punk whatsoever their set wasn’t for me, but it was still good in my opinion. Great vocals too.
Next up were Big Spring, also from England. Their sound was something between Alternative and Indie, kind of relaxing but also powerful. I really enjoyed their set. The singer definitely stood out with his big fur jacket which looked good and fit into their aesthetic very well.
Then finally You Me At Six came on stage and the crowd started to scream and jump once they started to perform the first song of the night “Fast Forward”. Their whole setlist was a great variety out of their new songs (“Back Again”, “I O U”…) and oldies from the previous records (“Fresh Start Fever”, “Bite My Tongue”…). At one point a girl in the front row started to cry out of happiness and I almost shed a tear with her. It’s amazing to see people enjoy themselves and be happy. It was truly a great night that I won’t forget that fast. A awesome first show of the year!
